I used to not lean either way, but I've begun to like it. Maybe it's for personal reasons. I associate the month with hope and new beginnings. It's the month that starts with summer and ends in Autumn. I think it's interesting. When I was a kid, I thought that the months were divided more evenly between the seasons, but that's not the case. Seasons tend to end towards the end of every three months.

I still have not warmed up to Augustine, Augustina, Augusta, Gus, etc. Maybe one day.

Don't like any of the August names

I know an August, and respect him for not being called Gus. I don't like August as either a month or a very ambitious adjective.

I love August, it's very attractive. Augustus is fun, but not nearly as handsome. I like Augustine, but strongly prefer aw-GUS-tin to AW-gus-teen - the latter sounds feminine.

I love Augusta. August and Augustus sound like “not Augusta”(they’re fine, though).
