Faye, Dawn or Sylvie for a girl?

Replies

Sylvie is my favorite, but Faye is close behind. Dawn is too outmoded at the moment for me.
Faye is by far the strongest and most attractive but I really hate people have begun to notice it. Hope it doesn't flash. Sylvie is cutish but kind of limp. Dawn also okay but a bit more patina on it.
Sylvie
Faye feels week and insubstantial and Dawn feels very dated, but Sylvie is cute.

These names all have nice attributes, but I've always thought that Faye was a gorgeous name.
Sylvie. Faye and Dawn are ok for middle names though.
Faye
Sylvie (would be #1 if it was Sylvia)
Dawn (Just ok)
Dawn and Faye are too sweet and sentimental: they need a good squeeze of lemon juice. Sylvie is OK as a nn for Sylvia, but I don't see the point of it as a name in its own right. Use Sylvie, and that's what you're stuck with. Use Sylvia, and there's Sylvie, waiting in the wings. So, nought out of three from the three names given; I'd happily use Sylvia.
None. I prefer Sylvia.
I like Sylvie. Dawn and Faye are too simple for me.
Dawn > Faye > Sylvie
I like all three names, but Faye is my favorite.
Order of preference Sylvie - a chic French version of Sylvia. Faye - I had an aunt by marriage with this name. She wasn't my favourite person. I think Faye is better in the middle spot with a long first name (eg. Aurelia Faye).Dawn - I knew two Dawns both of whom weren't the sharpest knives in the drawer. Again, it's better as a middle name.
OK I like all of these and usually I don't like all the ones suggested. I have a relative who was Faye and only ever met 1 other at a hospital I worked at. We have a few middle name families with Faye but nobody else does it as the first name. I struggled with what a middle name would be. I remember I asked the Faye what hers was but I don't really remember what she said. Rachael maybe? I imagine a longer middle name like Faye Josephine would be cute or Faye Gwendolyn.
Also have a relative Dawn and have spotted Sylvie on a name hunt for our kids. Doesn't work with our criteria bit I do really like it.
I'd choose Dawn ...Faye is okay but feels very insubstantial and elderly. Sylvie is weak, though I like Sylvia all right. Dawn's a name I would have liked to be called.
