What is Semaj?

Don't know where it originated, but there's a Sims youtuber I watch called James Turner. In his Sims playthoughs, he names his simself Semaj whenever he includes a simself. I am unclear if this started sometime around the Get to Work expansion which includes a scientist career where you can make a cloning machine. This machine can not only clone a sim, but has the potential to clone an evil sim. Not sure if he started using Semaj after a cloning machine incident, and used it to differentiate his sim from that sim.
I also knew a Samuel who wanted to go by Leumas during the time I knew him (2010 - 2013), but it didn't work. He was creepy and liked to touch the girls in our class in a way that made us feel uncomfortable and continued to do it after we asked him not to. We called him Sweaty Sam. There might have been a trend at some point for backwards names around that time for some reason because I'm not entirely convinced he was alone in it.

It is James spelled backward and is primarily used in the African-American community. It was first popularized by an obscure R&B singer whose first album was released in 1999, the same year Semaj first made the top thousand names on the SSA list.

Apparently thats exactly what it is - James spelt backwards.. lol. Not a fan. This would probably be better on the Facts board next time.
Whatever it is, I don't like it one bit.
There is a basketball player and a kid influencer with the name of Semaj (James spelled backwards). It's almost as bad as Nevaeh (Heaven spelled backwards). I've never understood why anyone would want to spell a name or word backwards.
