Raymond - This is a favorite of mine. I don't understand why it comes off as so unhip to many people. Television, maybe? Psh. It's a good old name, and I think it sounds much more manly and friendly than Edmund or Desmond. Also, Ray!Alastair - As a Scottish name it's good. (For me personally, though - I feel like it comes off pretentious in a way, if it were the name of an American. Since this spelling doesn't match American English pronunciation, it makes it a little too in-your-face Scottish for an American.) Harvey & Sergei tie. I think Sergei is a good name within its main usage, like Alastair, but if one is borrowing it, it misses the mark. Harvey is a decent old name, seems very manly, however I get a slightly stuffy retro vibe, like with Billy or Jim.Wendell seems like a cool name. I just think it's too nerdy sounding in real life. Mortimer is almost a joke to me. I guess I can see how Mort would be kinda cool, though, if it were someone's actual name. I would just not be the one to give a guy the name.

Mortimer 6/10, I love it but it’s a major guilty pleasure
Alastair 10/10, so handsome
Harvey 6/10, good but not great
Wendell 5/10, I know one, it’s fine
Raymond 8/10, a great classic that isn’t overused!
Sergei 8/10, very nice but wouldn’t really make sense if you aren’t Russian…
Alastair > Wendell > Raymond > Harvey > Sergei > Mortimer
Alastair and Wendell are probably 7/10s for me, but they're interesting
Raymond and Harvey are probably 5/10s for me.
Sergei's probably 3/10 for me.
Mortimer's probably 2/10 for me.
They're just not my style. Not necessarily bad, though
Alastair - my son's second mn
Raymond - not a favourite, but not bad
The others tie for last place. I like Sergei as a name, but as a name in a non-Russian context, I don't take it seriously.

They're all lovely! Raymond's probably my least favorite, though I don't dislike it. I love Sergei and Harvey.
I only like Alastair
