I knew a Lorelei at my old job and although she was very smart she let you know it. She could also be abrupt and stand offish so that kind of taints the name for me.

I would choose Veronica - I like the look and sound of it. I love the saintly history pf the name. St Veronica was the woman who was so moved by the sight of Christ carrying his cross, she gave him her kerchief to wipe his brow, after which he handed it back imprinted with the image of his face. It has plenty of nicknames like Vera, Nica, Nico, Ronni.

Lorelei. They both seem very vampish, femme fatale, siren types - not my style. But Lorelei doesn't have the annoying, nasal quality that Veronica does.

Lorelei should be fun, especially with a Marilyn Monroe character namesake, but for some reason it feels very cold and unfriendly to me.
