Names you feel are overrated?
Are there any names you feel are really overrated?

Timeless names - Anna, Benjamin, Charles, David, Elizabeth, James, John, Joseph, Julia, Mary, Michael, Robert, Samuel, Sarah, Thomas, William
Old-fashioned names making a comeback - Ada, Alice, Amelia, Clara, Eleanor, Ella, Eloise, Eva, Genevieve, Isabella, Iris, Olivia, Sophia
These are two name categories that I think are overrated

We recently had a thread about this, in terms of the board darlings : https://www.behindthename.com/bb/baby/5511450
In terms of real life, well, I was out shopping the other day and heard the names Luca and Matteo on young kids about a dozen times and rapidly grew to hate the sound of them. I'm a Romantic at heart and I should appreciate these names, but I found them very flimsy and shrill. They're both super popular, so I guess I find those names overrated.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Luca and Matteo / Matheo / Mateo are overdone. Both names basically exploded in popularity all around the world, (Australia, Uruguay, Chile, etc.) but they've got bigger rises in Europe (Germany, Scandinavia, France, Spain...). Ironically, both names are slightly falling out of favour in Italy.
Plus, Luca is still rising in popularity due to the 2021 movie, as well as Luka (although I like this one).
