Thoughts on the name Laverne for a girl?
Thoughts on Laverne?

Feels severe. I like Lavinia better.
Well, it happens. I've met a couple, and they've been very ordinary people, so I've been glad for them that they've got such an exotic name to brighten their lives. I would never even consider using it, but it's harmless.
It sounds masculine to me, possibly because of Vern and Vernon. The "Ver" sound in names is not my cup of tea. if I had to use it, I'd put it as NN. I'd have to pick a very particular first name for it to work, though.
Don't like it at all, very dated. First thought Laverne and Shirley
The sound itself is fine I guess, but it doesn’t really sound or look like a given name and it’s just very dated to the 30s-50s. Plus I have an Uncle Laverne so it feels both too masculine for a girl and too feminine for a boy. Having said that, I would prefer meeting a baby Laverne vs something like Harper. A similar name that I greatly prefer is Laverna, very pretty.
It’s okay.
Oh I love Laverne. It's so satisfyingly bitchy (in a fun way).
It's fine, but a little dated.
