Thoughts on Gilbert?

I actually kind of like it. I'd put it in my guilty pleasures though. I don't think it has made enough of a comeback to be worn by a child yet.
I have a cousin named that so I naturally think of him first. I don't really care for it to be honest and neither has my cousin. I do like Gil however, which is what he mainly goes by and when he was younger "lil' Gil" to differentiate himself from his father also named Gilbert. So there was Big Gil & Lil'/Little Gil. 😅
Really dislike. It's the sound. Also associated with Gottfried.
I think it makes a pretty good impression.
I had an acquaintance with the name. A guy with a clean-cut image whose friends called him Gil and Gilly. It was a strange name for someone his age to have - grandpaish - but easily became stylish.

I know a Gilbert (last name) and he’s exactly as I would picture a Gilbert. Unshaven and unwashed.
Very cute. A perfect dog name!!
I love Gilbert, and have for years. It's the look, the sound, and, the '-bert' part which is a bit of a weakness for me.
I've never met a Gilbert, but I'd like to. I think of it as classic rather than dated.
I love Gilbert! It's friendly, bookish, and debonair.
It sounds a bit silly because of Gil, but Bert brings it back to sounding like a grandfather who served his country. The sound doesn't stand out and the imagery isn't enough to make me like it. It has fallen out of the US top 1000s in recent years after centuries of endurance. I wouldn't mind if it came back but I wouldn't be excited. I prefer other Bert names like Albert or Robert, but it is better than Dilbert and Sigbert. I am neutral to it.
Kind of love Gilbert.
It's ok
I don't mind it. There's a Gilbert in my classes.
