1) If you met someone named ky-ra how would you assume it was spelled and what would be your favorite spelling?
Just by hearing the name, I would assume it was spelled Kaira(h). I think that's just because in my immediate location, there are a ton of names spelled more phonetically and so it's become a common place assumption. With that particular pronunciation I'd say Kairah to make it a little more obvious. Although, I've actually seen Qayrah pronounced Kigh-rah.2) If you saw Kyra on paper, how would you prononce it and what would be your favorite pronunciation?
If I say Kyra on paper, I would probably assume it was pronounced Keer-ah. That's my favorite I suppose since it's the one I'm more familiar with.3) Do you think it is trendy or formerly trendy (dated)? If so, to which decade?
It was really popular in my area seemingly every decade or so. So there was a bit of an increase in popularity in the late 80s, then the late 90s, and again in the late O0s. It sort of dropped off by then in my area but it had enough of a staying power to be familiar without being overly popular. Currently, I'd say it might be rising. 4) Do you like it?
I like it well enough.

5) Which image do you get from it? What would a Kyra be like?
I typically think of a female with either Eastern European heritage, Norwegian/Swedish heritage, or Celtic heritage. I think spunky, vivacious, and bold. 6) Do you prefer Kiera, Kira, Keira, Ciara, Kayra? Do you pronounce them the same?
I prefere Kiera, Kira, Keira, Kyra. Kiera - is pronounced Keer-ah or Key-rah to me as I've heard both in real life.
Kira - is pronounced Kigh-rah or Keer-ah as I've heard both.
Keira - is pronounced Keer-ah or Key-rah as I've heard both.
Ciara - depends for me. If I'm talking to one of my friends who's full blooded Irish, he pronounces it Keer-ah, but if I'm talking around my area, everyone pronounces it Cee-are-ah like the singer who married Russell Wilson (I live in a suburb of Seattle so Seahawks are huge.)
Kayrah - is pronounced Kay-rah to me.
1. I'd think her name was Kyra, which makes a lot of sense. My favourite spelling is Kaira, though.2. KIE-ra.3. I think it's still trendy, but less than before. I wonder if it will soon receive another boost in popularity.4. Not really, it's too insubstantial for me. I guess it's better than other names out there.5. I imagine a sporty, somewhat popular girl.6. I much prefer Kira! It's straightforward. I pronounce the first three as KEE-ra, Ciara as Kiara and Kayra as KAY-ra.
1. I would assume it's spelled "Kyra," which is my preferred spelling (though I hate the name).
2. I would pronounce it how it looks: "KIGH-ra" (like "thigh" + "ra").
3. It feels like a late-90s name to me.
4. I hate it.
5. I imagine an airhead.
6. Kira sounds less strident to me.

1. I wouldn’t assume anything because I know there’s a lot of popular spellings. I’ve seen Keira, Kyra, and Kira used.
2. I would assume it’s pronounced like KEE-ruh even though I think it should be pronounced KIE-ruh.
3. I feel like it goes with the 90s trend. That’s when similar names were popular (Kiana, Kenia, Kyla).
4. I hate the spelling Kyra. Other spellings are okay.
5. A person?
6. I love Ciara, but I’ve only ever seen three-syllable pronunciations, and I prefer see-AHR-uh. I can’t even imagine how Kayra could be pronounced the same; I see KAY-ruh.
It's ok
Kai ra
I prefer Kira pronounced like Mira
I pronounce most the same except Kay Ra

1. With the "Kai-ruh" pronunciation, I'd assume the name to be spelled as Kyra. 2. If I saw Kyra on paper, I may instinctively pronounce it as "Keer-uh;" that's my favorite pronunciation.3. If I were to date it, I'd date it to the 1990s and 2000s. Though, I definitely feel that it's more trendy!4. Yes, I do quite enjoy the name Kyra.5. A Kyra would be sporty or into music. I picture a laid-back girl with an active, vibrant personality.6. I prefer Kira to them all, pronounced as "Keer-uh". I pronounce them all the same, except for Keira "Kee-AIR-uh" and Kayra "Kay-ruh".
1 I'd assume it rhymed with Myra
2 I'd rhyme it with Myra
3 No idea; never met or heard of one
4 No
5 Kyra would have trendoid parents
6 Kiera = KEERa; Kira = Kyra; Keira = KEERa; Ciara = keeAra perhaps; Kayra = KAYra. I don't like any of them.
