Re: I'm thinking about Beatrice...
1. What do you think of Beatrice?
I love it! It's been on my favorites list for awhile, and it has been slowly creeping higher and higher. I would seriously use it as a FN. or a MN. It wouldn't matter, but my point (lol, if I ever have one) is that it's not one of those names on my list because I just like it; I'd actually use it! :)2. How does it compare to Beatrix?
I prefer Beatrice a lot more. I don't like the -trix on the end; it seems trashy, and it is harsh sounding.3. Other than Bea, are their any known/acceptable nn's that might develop?
I don't know. I would probably call her Bea part of the time (I think it's cute), but I love Beatrice whole!4. What about these combos:
Beatrice Helen - Very classical to my literary ears. I like it; it's very pretty, and it flows well.
Beatrice Susan - I don't like Susan much, but I think it seems sort of stunted in the middle, especially with some soft like Beatrice as the FN.
Beatrice Kay - Don't like the flow.
Beatrice Mary - It's nice. I'm so used to seeing Marie/Maria as a MN that this is sort of refreshing, but still not my favorite.
Beatrice Clare - Love this, but Clare happens to be on my list, too. This spelling!5. Others?
I'm having a hard time with that myself, but some that I've considered lately:
Beatrice Amelia
Beatrice Constance
Beatrice Louisa
Beatrice Sofia
Margot Beatrice
Adela Beatrice
Cora Beatrice

What are the convulsions of a city in comparison with the insurrections of the soul?
Man is a depth still greater than the people.

I really love Beatrice as a whole as well. The more I think about it, Bea seems just the perfect nn. The lack of nn's that I don't like is also a positive since I'm sure that Trix or Trixie would be inevitable if Beatrix were used instead. I'm glad to see another Clare-no-i fan. I seem to feel outnumbered sometimes! Beatrice Louisa has a lovely melodic quality to it. I've added it to the list. Thanks! ----Betsy-----
