I'm thinking about Beatrice...
What do you think of Beatrice?
How does it compare to Beatrix?
Other than Bea, are their any known/acceptable nn's that might develop?
What about these combos:
Beatrice Helen
Beatrice Susan
Beatrice Kay
Beatrice Mary
Beatrice Clare
Others?Thanks! ----Betsy-----

My grandmother's name was Beatrice Pearl. Her nickname as a child was Beaty and Bea as an adult.
I would love to use the name to honor her if we have a girl but DH doesn't like it. pregnancy

I prefer Beatrice but Beatrix is okay, Beatrice just seems a softer more gentle form of the nameBeatrice Mary is lovely and my favorite of your combos but I like Beatrice Helen Beatrice Susan and Beatrice Clare as wellBeatrice Kay - doesnt sound quite right to my ears
Some names I like with it are
Beatrice Amelia
Beatrice Elouise
Beatrice Juliet
Beatrice Lily
Beatrice Margaret
Beatrice Olivia
Beatrice Rosemary
Beatrice VictoriaI slightly prefer it as a middle name myself, in fact if I were to of had any more children my next daughter would definately of had Beatrice as her middle name either Alexandra Beatrice or Elisabeth BeatriceI also like
Catherine Beatrice
Liliana Beatrice
Rosamund Beatrice
Rosemary Beatrice
Sophia Beatrice

Rosemary is a great suggestion. It's actually a family name for us and I love to incorporate that into all my combos. Thanks for the suggestions! ----Betsy-----

1. What do you think of Beatrice?
I love it! It's been on my favorites list for awhile, and it has been slowly creeping higher and higher. I would seriously use it as a FN. or a MN. It wouldn't matter, but my point (lol, if I ever have one) is that it's not one of those names on my list because I just like it; I'd actually use it! :)2. How does it compare to Beatrix?
I prefer Beatrice a lot more. I don't like the -trix on the end; it seems trashy, and it is harsh sounding.3. Other than Bea, are their any known/acceptable nn's that might develop?
I don't know. I would probably call her Bea part of the time (I think it's cute), but I love Beatrice whole!4. What about these combos:
Beatrice Helen - Very classical to my literary ears. I like it; it's very pretty, and it flows well.
Beatrice Susan - I don't like Susan much, but I think it seems sort of stunted in the middle, especially with some soft like Beatrice as the FN.
Beatrice Kay - Don't like the flow.
Beatrice Mary - It's nice. I'm so used to seeing Marie/Maria as a MN that this is sort of refreshing, but still not my favorite.
Beatrice Clare - Love this, but Clare happens to be on my list, too. This spelling!5. Others?
I'm having a hard time with that myself, but some that I've considered lately:
Beatrice Amelia
Beatrice Constance
Beatrice Louisa

I really love Beatrice as a whole as well. The more I think about it, Bea seems just the perfect nn. The lack of nn's that I don't like is also a positive since I'm sure that Trix or Trixie would be inevitable if Beatrix were used instead. I'm glad to see another Clare-no-i fan. I seem to feel outnumbered sometimes! Beatrice Louisa has a lovely melodic quality to it. I've added it to the list. Thanks! ----Betsy-----

I like both Beatrice and Beatrix at the moment, but Beatrice slighly more. Both names have an old-fashioned charm, but I think Beatrice is more versitale, and it doesn't have a hard X at the end.'As for nns, I like Bea. Some other that might develop include Trixie (especially for Beatrix), Trissy, or even Trista!I love most of your combos! I think Beatrice Susan has a soft, nice flow to it, and others- especially Beatrice Mary and beatrice Helen- continue the pretty, old-fashioned charm! :-)
A few other:
Beatrice Maria
Beatrice Millicent
Beatrice Catherine (I think this spelling works the best)
Beatrice Joy
Beatrice Eleanor/ Eleanora
Beatrice Jane
Beatrice Genevieve
Beatrice LouiseI hope this helps! :-D
I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.

Beatrice Jane has been on my mind. It's nice to see that someone else thought of it as well! I like that it's short and sweet next to the longer Beatrice. Beatrice Millicent is charming... I'll definitely be adding it to the list! Thanks! ----Betsy-----

I like -trix better. If I used this name I would more than likely call her Trixie or Trix.I think that Kay sounds best with Beatrice.

I'm just loving Kay all around at the moment! ----Betsy-----

I prefer Beatrice to Beatrix at the moment. Beatrix seems a bit gimmicky to me at the moment, "omg! It is totally a name of a star, and in harry potter, and in kill bill, plus not a stuffy as beatrice" which isn't really what people think, but in my strang mind they do.Plus, Beatrice has old fashion charm. :-)Other nns: Trice, Trixy, Tricy (Trissy), Beat, Beat-tric (new varient no beatnic), Bebe...Of the combos, my favorites are Beatrice Susan and Beatrice Kay, because I think the softish K and S sounds mesh well with Beatrice. The others are nice, too, but I like these two best.Image hosting by Photobucket

I love both Beatrice and Beatrix. They're both beautiful and strong names. I find Beatrice a tad softer than Beatrix, which has more edge, but I really do like them both equally. The only possible nicknames (for both Beatrice and Beatrix) I can think of are Bee, Trish, Trix, and Trixie.Out of your combos, I like Beatrice Helen the best (though I personally find them all rather plain. I would rather see Beatrice/Beatrix paired with a slightly more unusual or at least edgier name. These combos are too "comfy" for my taste).

Thanks for the input! I too find Beatrice a bit softer which is why I think I'm drawn to it over Beatrix. ----Betsy-----
