October
The name October (M&F) has been on my mind lately, specifically with the nickname Toby/Tobey. What do you guys think?

Hate October as a name for anything but a month. The only good from using it would be the nn Toby, which I prefer as a nn for Tobias.
I'm fond of this idea for a name because it gives me lovely nostalgia for the early 2000s. There was a really silly horror movie that had a character with this name (lots of great Y2K hipster style names in it, actually - Loomis, Hutch, Phineas, Miller). Good memories. Also October is one of my favourite months! And I like the idea of Tobie as a nickname a lot.
I think October is a really cool name, and I love the nickname Toby for it!
We had a Toby cat, and our niece has a Toby boyfriend. So, yes to Toby. I don't enjoy any month names, except May which I make an exception of because of the flowering shrub and a couple of remote people on my family tree. Where I live, October is late spring, more like May than April in the northern hemisphere. So my associations are very different from most people's here.
Toby is a cute nickname for it!
I prefer the Soviet Oktyabrina.

I think this is a super cool name! I have a friend called this so I may be biased, but I think it’s really awesome. While it may be a lot to name a child, it could be a cool middle name or self-name for someone who likes it.
The nickname Toby / Tobey definitely dulls/makes it more ordinary, but I don’t think that’s necessary a bad thing- it could be good to have a more simple nickname at times, and I think Toby is cute.
