I think I have a second cousin named this. Or maybe it's spelled Hollice. I'm not sure. I was never fully certain if her full name was actually Hollis or if it was like a nickname. Her mother was the only one who ever called her that, and it was always done in a formal way, like when she was being stern with her.
When I was a kid I used to think Hollis (or Hollice) was cool, because it was more interesting than Holly.
