Scarlett
Thoughts on Scarlett?I used to dislike it, but it has grown on me. It's so lovely deep red and soft (I think of dark red velvet).Does Lettie work as a nn?

I think that Scarlett is a cool name for a girl. Only, I do find it a drawback that it's the name of a color (scarlet).
I don't like that it starts with scar and it reminds me of the masculine name Scarlat.
I love Lettie but not as a nickname for Scarlett, which I find tawdry.
Don't like the name or the character. Certainly not my idea of a role model! Lettie would certainly be better as a nn than the more obvious Scar.
Always has been a name I liked, but at first I preferred the spelling Scarlet because Scarlett seemed extra. Now it's the other way around - Scarlet seems incomplete; but I like both spellings.I have the same imagery as you - crimson, velvet, elegance...Lettie ruins the name, though - it's cutesy and out of place. Scar or Carly sound better.
I was also wondering if Carly can be used as a nickname, even though it's technically a name on its own.
I find it's spelling, sound, and association tacky, and I do not like it. It sounds too harsh, and there's nothing about it I really find pretty. I think Lettie could work as a nickname, though I don't like it. It sounds sort of flimsy and flavourless
I like this name. Spellings from best to worse, although I don't dislike any: Scarlet, Scarlett, Scarlette. I like the imagery that I have. I see someone who's sweet, but adventurous and spunky. I would use it if it was not so popular. I prefer it to Charlotte in that it sounds less uppity and has more backbone. Lettie damn sure works as a nickname. Scar sounds... badass, but in a villainous way. Like The Lion King. XD I don't care for Scar as a NN for it.
I don't like it at all or the association
TRENDY and gross. I just hear Scar. I think people are just attracted to the image of the famous women that carried it hoping for that for their daughters.
I hate this spelling, but I ADORE the sound of this name. Scarlet is my favorite spelling, followed by Scarlette.
I think Lettie is ugly.
