Isaac, Basil, Philippe, or Olivier?
Which is/are your favorite/s?

Replies

I just love Basil :) As a whole name and all the nicknames I've ever heard are awesome
1. Isaac
2. Basil, PhilippeIsaac is the most classic in my cultural context. Basil sounds old-fashioned in a way that's similar to Cecil and Ambrose. Philip would be much more expected than Philippe where I live, but Philippe is recognizable, and I like both forms. Olivier is ok, but I don't like the vyeh ending that much.

Basil
Philippe
Isaac
Olivier
1. Olivier. Classic and timeless.2. Philippe. I would put it in the same category as Olivier (names that are classic and used by many generations)3. Isaac. It has rose into use in the French-speaking world in the last 20 years, but I think it's an ok name.4. Basil. Not my style.
1 Olivier
2 Isaac
3 Basil
4 Philppe
Isaac > Olivier > Philippe > BasilI don't get the appeal of Basil.
Basil, easily.
Olivier > Isaac > Basil > PhilippeI like Olivier best, Isaac is okay. I'm not sure about Basil, so I put it after Isaac, but I might like it more?
