I'd pick some common names from the years they are supposed to be born, if the story is meant to feel like a relatable or believable experience.
Maybe for the female character something like
Hannah,
Alexis,
Lauren,
Natalie.
For the boy, maybe
Daniel,
Aidan,
Gavin,
Seth?
