My name has been in use for many, many centuries in the English language; it's also very common. Naturally, it has never left the top 1000 since the 1800s. It stayed in the #2 spot from 1880 all the way until 1909, dropping to #3 in 1910. I'd say that it peaked around this time, because it never reached #1.
