What do you think of the era when your name was peak?
In my case, I think it was a time when many people were unemployed due to the subprime mortgage crisis. (And I was also born around this time (2009))

Where I live, probably the 1950s though there are no stats so I can't be sure. Boys with short hair, girls in stiff petticoats, adults would all have had memories of 1939-45. Cars with wings for back lights. The start of very bad political life in South Africa.
My name was popular in the 80s, peaking in 1990. So by the time I was born it was declining.
I’m not a huge fan of the 80s and think of it as the time of big hair, the 90s were better.

My name has been in use for many, many centuries in the English language; it's also very common. Naturally, it has never left the top 1000 since the 1800s. It stayed in the #2 spot from 1880 all the way until 1909, dropping to #3 in 1910. I'd say that it peaked around this time, because it never reached #1.
Depending on the country, my name (Christine) peaked somewhere between the early 1950s and mid 1960s. My parents were born in the mid-1950s so it’s very much more a name of their generation; by the time I was born in 1980 it was still common but short versions like Kristy and Christie were more popular.
The 50s and 60s were an interesting time - big swings back and forth in terms of social mores. Very much still under the shadow of WWII, mass migration (including my mum’s family in 1965), lots of upheaval and reevaluation.

Countries vary. It's rising in France and Italy, and it's in the top 10 in Mexico. In Scotland, it peaked in 1983 and fell out of the top 100 in 2002.
It's been in the US top 50 from 1987 to present - drifting between #16 and #28 most of that time but has been falling since the pandemic. The highest percent used was in 1993, but it ranked highest in 1998 and 1999.
Things that were happening in the 90s...I was a toddler, then in elementary school...the Soviet Union was dissolved, Nelson Mandela was released from prison, the Lebanese Civil War ended, the Gulf War and the Bosnian War, NAFTA, the Oslo Accords, computers were becoming household items, there were no cell phones, drugs to treat AIDS were developed, the prison industrial complex was on the rise, postmodernism, the supernatural (witches, vampires, demons, aliens) and disaster romances (like Titanic, Armageddon) were popular in TV/movies, grunge and shoegaze were a thing...Lisa Frank + Power Rangers + the Spice Girls + Xena + The Matrix + the Chicago Bulls were a thing...the Los Angeles riots, the Waco massacre, the Oklahoma City bombing, the Columbine shooting...
Seems like a lot of turmoil. False starts, festering wounds, growing pains, building bridges, crumbling walls. Enterprising expansion and innovation. Last years of a bygone millennium. Sparkly, neon, gritty, whimsical, ethereal, stark, globalized, decadent, shabby, goofy, industrial, awesome, mindbending.

My name peaked in the 90s. I wasn't alive, but I know it had good music and the war on drugs.
2011 (when it peaked in my country).
I actually.... Can't remember anything from that time. Not just about myself, but about anything, like what was going on in the world. I think that was when I was getting like 20 minutes of sleep a night, my brother had cancer, and I was working for the government, so pretty bad times. No wonder I blocked it out!
My middle name peaked in 1987. Not many memories of this time either, because I was four. The fashion was fun.
Boy that's a bummer. If I had to pick a name from my "best years" it would probably be 2014, 2015, and 2016. I had a lot of fun then (finally). 2004/2005 was pretty cool too, although maybe I'm giving it a sheen of nostalgia.

In 2011 (39 births) I was halfway through high school, Obama was president, and we were bouncing back from the recession. I think that was the last time I really felt like everything was okay in the world, honestly.
2011 was a good year for me too. I want to go back to that time considering how mucg things suck now.
That's now.
Ask me what I think after the next US election.
