McKenna, Makenna, Makena
Do you like it? For a girl. How would you spell it?Makena
Makenna
McKenna

Makena is a legitimate female fn. Not being Kenyan, I wouldn't use it.The other two are unpleasant. Kenneth, for a boy, is somewhat OK and a whole lot better.
"Mc" is too harsh. I prefer Kenna.
Makena feels unnecessarily foreign.
Makenna is fine.
McKenna looks clunky or like the person's surname.
Mackenna looks the most "girly" but still in its complete form.
McKenna is cute like McKenzie but gives off the snobby vibe.
Makenna is really pretty in my opinion and seems complete.
Makena seems less complete and someone might pronounce it "ma-KEE-na" but it's still pretty
McKenna, it’s one of the only Mc- names I can tolerate. Maybe because I went to school with one. I also knew a Kenna, but it always felt incomplete.
They’re all awful especially when McKenna. I’d rather Kenna.
I think the aesthetic of McKenna looks the best, but I also think the meaning of Makena is incredibly sweet/ carries more weight
Makenna, don't like it for either especially a girl
I don't like it at all. Makena, I guess - because it's a Kikuyu given name, and not a LN FN.
I don't like it, because I can only see it as a surname. Every 'mc-' surname does not work in my opinion. Would you name your child McDonald?
As for the spelling, I would go with Makena, because it's an actual first name with a cute meaning. If it comes down to Makenna vs. McKenna, I would go with McKenna, because though awkward, there's no use trying to cover up the fact that it's a Scottish surname

Makenna for me!It's a name I kind of like but not enough to stick on my list of interests or surely ever use. It's cutesy.
Not really a fan. I'd just go with Kenna.
Among my least favorite names—tawdry and vapid. Sorry!
Not a fan but it has got to be Makena obvi, since its the one that's actually a given name and not a patronym. Helluva better meaning too.
I agree with Lily. If forced the best is Makena.
I'm not a huge fan of "Mc-Mac" names.I would spell it McKenna.
