I work at a long-term care (LTC) facility. Many of our residents are elderly, a few are not.The term nursing home isn't really used anymore.The poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese. G.K. Chesteron

That's interesting. It is used here in Canada.
Here the term is considered insulting and infantilizing. People still use it, but within the LTC industry care center or long-term care facility is the correct term. I'm 90% my in-laws and parents tell people I work in a nursing home, though.
