Put These Trendy -Ley Names in Order of How Bad They Are
Replies
I agree with you about Finley! I don't think it's necessarily a great name on boys, but it's much better on them than on girls.
Best to worst (I really can’t stand any of them but the first three I can at least tolerate…)
Finley
Wrenley (she can always go by Wren)
Oakley
Adley (potential nn Addy saves it a little…only a little)
Paisley
Brinley
Mckinley
Briley
Kinsley (just use Kinsey!)
Tinsley
Zailey
Henley
Ensley
Tenley
Ainsley (I was disappointed to read the positive comments on this name…but to each their own I guess 😔)

Kinsey is cute!
1st tier (okayish):
Oakley, Finley, Briley, Brinley, Wrenley, Zailey
2nd tier (meh, okayish);
Adley, Henley, Mckinley, Tenley, Paisley
3rd tier (annoying):
Ensley, Ainsley, Kinsley, Tinsley
I like Oakley, Zailey, Briley best; Brinley, Wrenley, Finley are only the same level because they could be shortened to the 1st syllable.
And I hate *sley, if you couldn't tell; Paisley is higher than the others because it's slightly more evocative, but the sound still annoys me.

worst to least bad
Tinsley
Kinsley
McKinley
Ensley
Ainsley
Briley
Wrenley
Brinley
Henley
Finley
Oakley
Adley
Paisley: the only -zlee name I don't think is super irritating
Zailey: more of a nickname for Azalea spelled like a surname name.
Tenley: I don't even see it as trendy. I knew a Tenley who was born in the fifties.

Fascinating!
Paisley is the only one I can face; not as a fn, but as a mn it would actually be fine. All the others dead-heat for the bottom spot. Although, maybe all except Tinsley can dead-heat for second last: Tinsley is nastily tinny and also too much like Christmas decorations.
Yeah, Tinsley just makes me think of tinsel.
1. Mckinley - i can't with the mc-surnames as first names
2. Henley - like chickens
3. Tenley - like the number
4. Tinsley

7. Finley -not on girls
8. Adley - sounds incomplete
9. Wrenley
10. Brinley
11. Zailey
12. Briley
13. Oakley - i know adults name oakley, i wouldn't think of it as a recent thing
14. Ainsley - the ainsleys i know are named after a lake and are nice people, so i actually kinda like it
