I see a lot of hate toward spelling variations, but I think some do make a name better. Are there any spelling variations you actually like?

I like using variant spelling to feminize trendy or modern boy names. I pretty much agree with you on Madisyn, Skylar, and Averi.

Merriam > Mariam (which I instinctively pronounce MAHR-yahm); though I'd more likely use Miriam, anyway
Ellavieve > Ælfgifu (which is archaic, anyway)
Sylvana > Silvana
Willemina > Wilhelmina
Brienne > Brianne / Brianna
Normally, though, this isn't my bag.

A lot of the ones you listed I wouldn't consider particularly Cre8ive. Many of the differences either reflect different cultural roots, or are arbitrary in the first place (like Jaiden/Jaden, Lacie/Lacey)

I think "kre8tive" is subjective. For instance, BtN lists "Nathanael" as the original spelling and "Nathaniel" as the variant. By that logic, I love the original, and hate the variant. Yet, most people I know think Nathanael is the "kre8tive" spelling of Nathaniel.
Some spellings that I like people in my country would consider "kre8tive", when they are in fact German - Bianka and Veronika, for example.
But I do like Catheryn. That I would consider "kre8tive"!

It’s so strange when the apparently original spelling is not popular at all.
I think Queen Catherine Parr actually spelled her name Katheryn!

Not sure if it counts as a creative spelling, but I like Haley. I guess the original is Hayley? I like Hayley, too.

Oh, odd, I wonder why Aiden is so much more popular, then.
I do have a specific acceptation to the made-up spelling dislike though; No specific name examples jump out at me for this, but if parents from a different language and/or cultural background were living in an English-speaking country, and the original spelling of a desired name was difficult for English speakers, so they chose a phonetic spelling... that I understand and can be down for so long as the new spelling isn't too off-the-wall purposely insane.

I'm really partial to Alyce and Elisabeth. To me, Alyce looks more balanced from the y anchoring it in the middle. I like the aesthetic. It also has some medieval vibes which I love. Elisabeth is a preference from both my heritage and aesthetic. The S spelling has a softer and more approachable look to me. I'm also into Veronika and Bianka for similar reasons. I'm not "usually" into made-up spellings, but I have a lot more wiggle- room for recognized variants.
