I'm not sure why Pansy is doomed. It's very similar in sound to Daisy.
Just because of the slang. Otherwise it would be similar to Daisy, Tansy, Violet, etc.
I'm not familiar with the slang. I've also never heard of Tansy.
Pansy in slang basically means a wimp, but I think it also has homophobic connotations.
