Georgia
I loved Georgia a while back, and am coming back to love it again. What are your thoughts? How do you see a "Georgia"?
What are some MNs that you'd give Georgia? Please, no Georgia Rain ;)
Thanks in advance, everyone!

Thanks,
I heard a dad calling his little baby girl Georgia where I work today. I thought it was adorable!! I second others when I think "Georgie" is sooo cute! I like Georgiana as well, but it could come off a little upity I suppose. "Geordie" is cute too, a little spunky. "Gia" is ok and then the sad case of "GiGi" which I love (because of the musical) but gets a bad rep.
By the musical, do you mean Miss Saigon, or is there another GiGi I'm missing? Thanks for your comments.
Thanks,
I like Georgia too.

A song. It's called Made by Chris Tomlin. It's actually about a guy, but I took the liberty of changing "...the man I was meant to be" to "girl I was meant to be."
Oh, and there is a quote that's similar to it, by Mark Twain, that goes "Dance like nobody's watching; love like you've never been hurt. Sing like nobody's listening; live like it's heaven on earth."

Yes, it was the quote that I knew. Thanks!
Georgia is very popular here in Australia, its been around for a while (i know Georgia's between 1 and 30+).
I picture a sweet little girl with freckles and a fun personality.
I personally prefer Georgina (my love of old English literature!) especially after Georgina from the Famous Five!

Love, love, love it. I love soft "g" sounds and this is a two for one name. It is very elegant and nostalgic, yet fits into a modern style as well. I also love the name Georgina, although it lacks a modern feeling.

I would caution against mns that are nouns. You end up with a description rather than a name; something akin to Georgia Peach.
Good luck!

I don't like Tessa under any cicumstances so Georgia Tessa doesn't work for me. But as a general rule I don't see any problem with two names ending in an "-a" sound next to each other.
Is there a Georgia in the Harry Potter books? I wouldn't let it stop me even if there was. Both are names with history and other associations.
Glad you liked some of them.

My daughter was about a second away from being named Georgia. I named her Marilyn because my grandmother had died shortly after I found out I was pregnant. I still hope to have a little Georgia one day!
Thank you.
I'm sorry, but I absolutely loathe the name Georgia. It just sounds so ugly to me.
I picture a fat Southern hick, who tawlks laik thihs.
Georgia Claire
Georgia Nicole
Georgia Hope
Georgia Naomi
Georgia Vivian
Georgia Brooke
Georgia Pearl

And for the record, I think Lilah and Georgia would be a nice sibset. ;)

You've got Georgia on your mind?
Don't mind me--I love dumb allusions. I was trying to find an Academy Drive a few days ago and wouldn't stop talking about how we had to figure out where the Academy is. (The Academy Is... is a band my sister loves and that I like all right, hehe.)
Georgia's a great name. Not one I'd use, but I think it's awesome, and I think that Georgie is a cute nickname. The best part is that there's lots of awesome songs with Georgia in the title, so you can sing all sorts of them to her. Try and find a copy of Ethel Waters doing "Sweet Georgia Brown"--it's a great song, and her version (from about 1928, I think) is my favourite. Or, if I ever get my computer reconnected to the internet, I'd be happy to send you a copy. :)
As far as middle names go, I think it sounds really sweet with the sorts that come off as countrified, but that could be my own bias towards names that sound like double names. Here are some suggestions.
Georgia Mae
Georgia Grey
Georgia Quinn
Georgia Fern
Georgia Fay
Georgia Lark (can you tell I really like it with other word names?)
Georgia Maeve
Georgia Ruth (REALLY like this one)
Georgia Day
Georgia Lorraine
Georgia Kathleen
Georgia Lucy
