HelpRe: Maira - easily misread?

I teach a handful of students called Maira and it isn't a big deal. It's no different from someone hypothetically confusing Jane with Jade or Julie with Julia.

I agree with this. Marie could also be easily confused with Maria, as well as Anne with Anna. That doesn't stop people from using them.
