Cecily vs. Cecilia
Which one, and why? Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me, and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Cecily was one of my favorite names as a child. Nowadays, I alternate between loving it and finding it too soft.Cecilia, on the other hand, has always seemed overly frilly and prissy to me. Even snobbish - despite being more popular than Cecily. I prefer both that, and Celia, to Cecilia.(But Cecilia is better than Cecile, which just sounds like a whine to me.)
I like Cecily, because it's rare where I live and has a friendly, quirky tone to it. Cecilia is old fashioned and not exactly popular, but it's around here and there. It feels much more formal and stiff.
Cecilia. It's more elegant and dainty. Though I love Cecily too.
I choose Cecilia because it sounds more like a name and Cecily sounds more like a nickname.

Cecily. It has a sweeter and less formal sound. I do have a niece named Cecilia, and she's made me like the name. Before. I'd never really cared for it.Also, I find it absolutely hilarious how often I comment that I have a nice or nephew with this or that name.
My father's name, Cecil, is more obvious in Cecily and that's what I'd happily use. In spite of Simon and Garfunkel, Cecilia doesn't sound nearly as pleasing to me.
Don't like either
Cecilia. It sounds more timeless than Cecily.
