I teach students that are equivalent age of end of high school, beginning of college and I always love getting my class list, to spot the names.
I have explained a bit who is the main population in the area I teach, but to summarize it: diverse area, students from various backgrounds and an important population of second-generation immigrants. The common language is French but a lot of students have a different first language learned at home (arabic, spanish, urdu, russian, romanian, haitian creole, etc.)
Don't hesitate to share your thoughts on this rainbow of names.
