If you are planning to use Sophie on a daily basis, but insist on using a longer version on the certificate, use Sophia, even if it looks funny to you. Having Sofia on there but using the Sophie spelling seems unnecessarily complicated. You're never going to look at "Sophia" again so just put it on there and forget about it. Name her Sophia Marie Juliet, called "Sophie". It looks and sounds great and satisfies all the issues.

Unless the daughter insists on being called Sophia. Then you’ll see it all the time.
If this is the same poster I'm thinking of, the baby was born in June and is technically named Emilia Isabelle, but called Sophie, and they want to change it. So she could also insist on being called Emilia or literally anything else anyway. It just makes more sense to me, if the spelling is going to be Sophie, to use Sophia. But of course, it doesn't matter, and they can do whatever they want.
