My daughter was gushing about her latest crush and how kind he is (unless he's playing Uno, apparently it's gotten so rowdy that the teacher banned the game) and I asked what his name was. It's Courtney. He's black. It's not in common for names like Courtney and Whitney to continue to be used as masculine names in black culture. Courtney B. Vance is a good example.
