The Sound of Music was based on the real Von Trapp family, and I thought it’d be fun to compare their names in the film with the original! What do you think?

All together I like Maria, Johanna, Rosmarie, Liesl, Louisa, Brigitta, and Gretl (though Gretel would be a better spelling.) Comparing I'd prefer Maria to Liesl, Rupert to Friedrich, Louisa to Agathe, Kurt to Werner, Brigitta to Hedwig, Johanna to Marta and Gretl to Martina.

Real life: I like
Maria; Rupprecht, though Rupert is all right; Werner; Johanna; Rosmarie, though not with Maria, and I wouldn't use Johannes and Johanna together either; Eleonore is fine in German

As a set I like the movie names more, but out of all of them I like:
