Re: Esther or Estelle?
Estelle has long been a favorite of mine; it's very uncommon and classy. I also love the name Esther, but religious associations are (especially) high with the name, so I prefer Estelle. However, I actually prefer Hester to both Estelle and Esther.

never thought of that! thanks a lot!
Out of curiosity, does general public also associate Esther with religious image, or usually only ppl who like researching about names know that?
cuz we r non-religious ppl, and we worried if using Esther might be weird?
I only see it as a religious name, considering the fact that I grew up Southern Baptist (Christian); I know some non-religious women named Esther, and it's suited them perfectly! It does have a strong, religious connection that you can't deny, but it's not weird for non-religious people to use it. I mean, I (completely) doubt that everyone who named their daughter Mary thought of Jesus' mother, lol. Also, just to note, Queen Esther is one of the best Biblical associates I can think of...a truly badass woman.
Not weird for non-religious people to use Esther, lovely name. Most people wouldn't associate it with religion
