It gives off a very 80s vibe to me. I don’t hate it but I wouldn’t use it myself. I prefer the spelling Kristy or Christy as well.

I like it better than "Kirstie" (by a long shot) but still prefer it more as a nn.
Kristina immediately comes to mind as I have a sister named that who sometimes goes by Kristie.

90s because of Looks Who’s Talking. I was a kid when it came out and I saw it in the early 90s.

yes ...Kirstie has never caught on much here in the US, though Kirsten has gotten a fair amount of use, and I understand that Kirstie/Kirsty was pretty popular in the UK.
