I like Deborah in itself, but not the NN Debbie, as I know many of them. It was quite popular in my generation. I still think it's useable.

I agreeThe nickname Debbie is not my style either. I happen to like the name Deborah best in the full form and with the "traditional" spelling; I also think that the name sounds less dated that way.

My favorite spelling is Deborah, too. I knew a lot of Debras, and a woman I used to work with spelled it Debrah. I suppose Dora or Dorie would be an acceptable NN, if you planned on using one.
