Reminds me of the Sally-Anne test. I also don't think Sally is usable for a (young) human.

Sally has always been a favorite girl name of mine; in fact, I used to love the combo Sally Anna (at like, 5 years old). I prefer the name combo Sally Anna to Sally Ann, but Sally Ann isn’t a bad name. With the Salvation Army association being strong, maybe a different combo (but, that’s not a bad thing in my eyes); how about Sally Faye, Sally Cora, Sally Eunice, or Sally Janet?

Aw, Sally Cora is adorable!

Never met a Sally or Sally Ann. It sounds like a children’s book character (like Raggedy Ann). Don’t like it.

Salvation Army (Ontario here)

Like Rox said, this name is irrevocably tied to the Salvation Army for me, we call it "Sally Ann" as well (Canadian prairies region). I do like Sally but I'd have to pair it with something else. Even then I wonder if a Sally in my area would still get "Sally Ann" comments.

Nice and simple.

I think it's ok

I wouldn't say Sally was a favorite, but I like it much better than Sara or Sadie. It's cute.
Sally Ann is often used as a nn for the Salvation Army so I wouldn't use it. Sally Jo, Sally Rae, Sally Jean, or Sally Marie would be my choices if I wanted a Sally combo that would work as a double-barreled name.

Wow never heard that about the Salvos

I've also never heard it be called Sally Ann, and am from America. Weird nickname for it.

Do you mean Salvation Army? I am in many thrifting (thrifting is trending now!) fb groups so I knew about Sally Ann being a nn for that.

Yes Salvation Army, just never heard about the Sally Ann connection, maybe its a US thing, we just call the Op shops/thrift shops Salvos here

I think it's Canadian originally.

Maybe. Im not from the US either and just read it’s Sally Ann in a fb group.

Very retro; I'd be surprised to meet a Sally Ann who wasn't retired. I like it as a combo: I was almost named Sarah Anne after my paternal grandmother; I dislike Sarah but I think I'd have made quite a good Sally Anne.
