Alyosha
I’ve love the character Alyosha Karamazov from the Brothers Karamazov, and am strongly considering using it or a form of it, but I’m not sure if it’s actually usable as a name and I’m finding a hard time finding variants.
We’re not Russian, and I know the Alyosha form isn’t normally a given name, any thoughts? Any middle name suggestions, or suggestions to use as a first name with Alyosha as a middle?
So far my other options are Alexei (sounds very Russian to me, and at that point I’d probably just go with Alyosha), or possibly Alexander, but I don’t know if that makes the connection and I don’t love either. Siblings would be Abraham and Matthias.

I love the name Alyosha, but think it's pretty hard to get the Russian pronunciation correct in English -- it's pretty easy to add a syllable, making it Alley-osha rather than Al-yosha, which kind of puts me off the name. Not to mention the inevitable misspellings as Aloysha.Alyosha sounds nice with siblings named Abraham and Matthias, but I'd have trouble giving a diminutive name to the youngest son. I really kind of yearn for Alexei in its place, with Alyosha as a family nickname.
