Re: Cornelius

I love this name, Cornelia too. I was shocked one day when my seventeen year old niece said it was one of her favorite names.
It's a family name for me. My Uncle Conor is actually Cornelius.
I've never heard of Aodh before, but as a mn I think it's fine. Others you might like:
Cornelius Tadhg ("tie + g")
Cornelius Paul
Cornelius John
Cornelius Sean
Cornelius Jude
Cornelius James
Cornelius Rex
Cornelius Rhys
Cornelius Finn
Cornelius Hugh
Cornelius Guy
Cornelius Mark
Let us know if you like anyone's suggestions. Thanks.

Thanks for mentioning your uncle.
I'd never in a million years have come up with Conor as a nn for Cornelius...kind of like how my bio-relatives came up with Mac as a nn for Malcolm. :o) I love nns with precedent! :oD Sure beats my coming up with Neil as a nn for Cornelius, lol.

Neil as a nn for Cornelius makes perfect sense to me; more sense, frankly, than Conor. Because at my house, at least, name-derived nn's are generally based on the most-emphasized spoked syllable, as in Soph for Sophia. So Neil for Cornelius is perfect, and I also really like Mac for Malcolm, though for sentimental reasons Mal remains my fave nn for Malcolm.
