Dorothea

I dislike it a lot. It sounds too old fashioned, but I'm not into the Arthur, Evelyn, Alfie trend. I just don't see the appeal.
Ps. I do like the name Thea!

I love Dorothea!!! I tend to like long girl names with a lot of nickname options so if the theoretical kid doesn't feel like the name suits them, they have a whole bunch of other options to choose from. With Dorothea, my initial go-to would be Thea, but I also like a lot of the other nicknames like Dora, Dot, and Dottie.
If I ever have a girl I plan on naming her Dorothea Mae to honor my mom (MN Dorothy) and my grandma (MN Mae).
Other combos I like:
Dorothea June
Dorothea Wren
Dorothea Lily
Dorothea Belle
Dorothea Vivian
Dorothea Rose
Dorothea Willow
Dorothea Gray
Or if you want to lean into the long names:
Dorothea Gwendolyn
Dorothea Guinevere
Dorothea Juliette
Dorothea Madeleine
Dorothea Katharine
Dorothea Rosalind
Dorothea Juniper
Dorothea Isabeau

I knew a Dorothea at school; usually I don't enjoy FOURsyllABle names with that rhythm, but for some reason Dorothea doesn't bother me at all. I like it better than Dorothy, even though Dorothy is a family name which usually swings it for me.
For the record, Dorothea never went by a nn.

I like it, but prefer Dorothy more.
