Re: Futuristic baby names
In 2223, I'm going to guess that there will be multiple trends going on simultaneously. There will be parents that really want to remember the past or who are attracted to a retro feel, so maybe a mixed bag of names like Athelstan, Herman, Floyd, Lucille, Nyla, and Ethel. Since our present day would also be really old (like we think of the 1800s), Olivia and Liam might make a comeback.I suspect Islam will still be a very common religion, so there will be quite a few Arabic names. For fun, I'm going to predict a trend of mythology inspired names like Rhea, Apollo, Juno, Artemis, Vulcan, Tian, Fuxi, Guanyin, Amaterasu, Inari, etc... Depending on whether 2223 is an era of optimism or morose doom-saying, I would expect either some exploratory reach for the stars and nature loving names like Vega, Cosmo, and Terra or something end timesish like Repent or Omega. Optimists are probably more likely to have kids, so perhaps Hope and Esperanza.
