Between David and Andrew… Interested to hear which name everyone likes better, and the reasoning behind why. Much appreciated!

David, Just like it more.

I dislike both a lot, but the idea of a baby named Dave is way funnier to me than one named Andrew, so I'll go with David.

I like them both. Andrew sounds younger.

Andrew. I know a very nice one - he's involved in student drama and we go out for coffee once a term or so. I like the sound more, and it's slightly less common than David.

David. It’s more classic/timeless than Andrew. I find it to be a stronger name. And Davy appeals to me more than Andy or Drew.

Andrew, I've liked the name since I was a kid.

Andrew - For me it’s down to association as my brother has a friend called David who he has been friends with since he was around 18 months old which is now more than 30 years ago. I will always remember them as little boys though doing things like beheading my mother’s Peony Roses with a tennis racquet (the roses flowered again the following year).

Andrew sounds whiney and wimpy to me; so does Andy. I've known plenty of pleasant, energetic Andrew people, but nothing seems to change my mind.My birth ln was Davies, and a cousin married a David, so it counts twice as a family name, or that's what I choose to believe anyway! I love the look and the sound of David, I love Wales, a dear friend is married to a wonderful David and I even like some David Bowie songs. I was watching a David Attenborough programme when I felt my first baby's first kick: his middle name is David for all the above reasons.

100% agree about Andrew.

David, it’s so sweet and simple and there’s great associations with David Attenborough. It also means beloved.
