I wouldn't pronounce it like Mikayla. It's Mee-ka-EH-la, 4 syllables, like Rafaela. There was a Michaela or Micaela (not sure which sp) at my high school and her name was four syllables. It's more like Mikhaila, than like McKayla - more of an "eye" sound than a long "A" sound. I don't even really think of Mikayla, Makayla, McKayla being exactly the same name as Micaela / Michaela, because I would say them differently. I like the 4 syllable versions much more than the 3 syllable versions.- mirfak
