Elle -- she feels a bit lighter & more whimsical!Kaye is sweet too, but I prefer the similar Faye :)

Elle, but only because Kaye looks overdone with an extra syllable that isn't really there. I actually think Kay is better than Elle right now just because Ella and Ellie are so overused. Also, nobody asked but...
Bee: very cute, but nickname only unless it's a pet
Dee: too dated
Ji: ok
Ai: cute
Jay: could technically fit anyone but makes me think of a middle aged guy
Em: good, still nickname-only
Enne: good if it's short for something (Vivienne, Adrienne, etc)
Vi: love this as a nickname
Zee / Zi: also good for a nickname

Kaye but I’m not wild about either.

Elle as a full name, Kay as a nickname.

I prefer Kaye visually, but Elle is more enjoyable to say.

Elle. I think the E in Kaye is unnecessary. Plus Kay(e) is rather boring and archaic.

Kaye, for me.

I don't enjoy either, but at least Kaye isn't a pronoun.

Elle. Kay is bland, and can barely stand on its own. It's fine as a nickname for Katharine, I guess - but why would a Katharine go by Kay when she could be a Kathy or Kit instead? Elle, while flimsy, does at least have some flair, and I know a lovely one.

I wouldn't even expect it to be short for Katharine, I'd think it was either a full name or short for something like Kaylee or Kayla. For instance Kaylee is cute while you're under 30 but after that Kay would age much better. I think Kay is kind of boring but it does sound older than a lot of longer Kay-names.

Neither, but I guess Elle
