WDYTO Lourdes?
I really like this name. I like the pronunciation "Lordz" a bit better than "LUR-dess". And, though Madonna named her daughter Lourdes, I would love to use it. How do you think Lourdes would sounds with Georgina? WDYT? -Kate

This is my step-mom's name; I like it a lot, but I like the pronounciation she uses, sort of a fusion between the two you posted: LOR-dez.-- Sarah

I really like the sound when it's Loor-des (but not really Loord). However, I associate it too much with
a)Madonna's child
b)a Catholic pilgrimage place, miracle visions etc.
to really like it being given to a baby.*****

This name for me is firmly entrenched in two different categories: Madonna's kid and religion. As an atheist I'd never use it because it's connotation is waaaay religious, and as someone who is really repulsed by Madonna I wouldn't use it. To boot I'm totally contemptuous of religiously motivated perceived phenomenon and would never want my kid's name to be reminiscent of such. The amount of dislike I have for it more or less prevents me from thinking it sounds good with anything.

*LOL*The amount of dislike I have for it more or less prevents me from thinking it sounds good with anything.I feel this way about so many names, this just made me laugh. Right now, with 06-06-06 and the remake of The Omen coming up soon, the name Damian could not sound good to me if a new Pope chose it! But then that's just my tortured Catholic-school upbringing rearing its ugly head...;)~Lillian~

I find it really hard to say, so I don't like it all that much. The way it looks is appealing, though. I think I like names with the "lou" and "lor" elements--Louisa, Louise, Loup, Marilou, Lorraine, Laurette, etc.Are you wondering about Lourdes and Georgina as sisters or together in a combo?Array

do you mean LOORDZ? because Lordz sound like Lords to me. I'm not very fond of this name, I do prefer LOORDZ over LUR-dess.
