Re: Top 10 for February (plus ten-year comparison)
in reply to a message by Uilos
While only a minor change occurred in my masculine list, there were a few changes in the feminine one, including a name that has never been in my Top 10 before but that I've been thinking a lot about lately:
Nicholas Evander
Wesley Owen Rhys
Finn Gabriel
Donovan Leo
Malcolm Elliott
Dominic Adam
Jonathan Bennett
Cormac Elias
Thomas William Gray
Tristan Xavier
&
Sabrina Lily
Morgana Holly
Zoe Celeste
Felicity Charlotte
Genevieve Elise
Miranda Juliet
Clarissa Violet
Alice Caroline
Marjolaine Adele
Juno Rosalie
Cormac has replaced Lennox in the masculine list (I guess I went more Celtic); and Zoe, Genevieve (formerly a middle), and Juno have replaced Anya, Elinor, and Jocelyn. Longtime favorites Miranda & Clarissa moved down the list this time, though oldies Sabrina & Morgana are still the top 2.
I am by no means decided on Morgana Holly as a combo, but it's frankly difficult for me to find middles I like to go with her. Morgana Raven, maybe? Or Sable? Suggestions would be most welcome! And Juno is the brand new name here - I've had Juniper in my top names before, but never Juno. Lately, I'm finding her quite fascinating.
And I freely admit to cribbing Marjolaine Adele from Wordsmith, because I saw the combo in one of their polls and thought it was amazing, though it got mostly 1-star ratings. I don't understand why.
Ten years ago, these were my top combos:
Cameron Myles
Dominic Edmond
Everett Jude
Finn Gabriel
Francis William
Malcolm Thomas
Matthew Lawrence
Nicholas Owen
Richard Ellis
Rowan Wesley
&
Annelise Marjorie
Cordelia Wren
Eleanor Florence
Gabriella Pearl
Juliet Eloise
Penelope Adela
Philippa Caroline
Ravenna Beatrice
Sabrina Vivian
Ursula Maude
I wrote in the post itself that there was no change between January & February 2013 in the masculine list, and I can see some of my favorites till today solidifying. The feminine list was far more surprising - I think I settled for Gabriella because Briella wasn't in the database yet (one instance where I fully embrace the "modern" version over the traditional), and I have absolutely no clue what Beatrice is doing there. I mean, I guess she goes with Ravenna, but I've never cared for Beatrice...

I've had Morgana Genevieve in the past; but since Genevieve is already in my Top 10 as a first, I wasn't going to use it as a middle.
Morgana Eloise isn't too bad, but I've been staying away from short vowel starts because Morgana ends in a schwa.
