I don't pronounced Sookie and Suki the same.
Suki is okay but Sookie makes me think of "Jersey Shore".

I like them actually. Yes, it might be similar to the word "sook" but it doesn't bother me.
Very juvenile and like Amphelise said reminds me of the word sook.
