Unfortunately the word fern is not as pretty as an actual fern. It can get more fernlike with a lacy kind of middle name.

Fern hands down, find Briar very unattractive.

I like both but prefer Fern. It's gentle and sweet.

Briar, especially Briar Rose. I like it more, since I learned that Briar Rose is the Princess Aurora's real name.

Fern, with Hermione as a middle name. Briar is wannabe Disney Princess, Fern is gentle and Victorian.

I like both but I prefer Fern because it feels more delicate and lilty to say, if that makes any sense. Also it has a cool meaning :)

Briar. I still like Fern, but Briar just seems “fresher” for the lack of a better word.

I don't enjoy either. However, Briar in South Africa sounds like the word for someone who is barbequeing, so that's definitely out. Fern, then, but only as a nn for Fernanda.

Briar - good personal associations, plus I like the sound. Fern seems bleak to me.
Briar Olwen or Briar Elise

I don't like them, but I prefer Briar because Fern is a bit hard to pronounce for me.

I know it's cliché, but I think Briar Rose is kinda cute ^^;

Fern is beautiful and classic. Briar sounds harsh, just like the plant it is, and is only suitable for fictional characters like Sleeping Beauty.

Absolutely Fern, it’s just such a soft, yet strong and beautiful name. I like Fern Eliana, Fern Louisa, Fern Gabriella, Fern Miriam, Fern Elizabeth and many more.

I like both, but I prefer Fern more.
