What are your thoughts on the name Lyle for a boy?
Thoughts on Lyle?

It's so soft and gentle. I like it, but prefer the spelling Lyall
Just another lnfn - yawn.
I share the impression that a couple others mentioned - that above all it's slick. Has a sort of unappealing sound quality and "mouthfeel"
So it'd never be one I consider as a name I like.
However if I met a boy named Lyle, that would not bother me nearly as much as it does when I consider the disembodied name.
I think it could (depending on the boy himself) seem perfectly nice. Not pleasant to make the sound with my mouth, but I've gotten accustomed to calling people names that are as bad in that way or worse (James, William).

It gives the impression of a sleazy, shady character from the 90s. The sound itself is slippery too.
Like the name equivalent of the word moist
It's ok
Vintage and very cute! So much better than Kyle. The meaning “island” is nice, too.
