I do this as well! It’s a normal thing that appears in some, though I forgot the term for it. My names all have colours, smells, sounds, etc.
Ripley; Red, smells of cinnamon, brisk and cold yet bright, sounds like an autumn breeze, looks like watercolour flowers. Also associate this with dirt bikes.
Sol; Yellow, smells of earth, warm and calm, sounds like storytelling, looks like the things I love most.
Peregrine; Blue, smells of heavy machinery, sharp and focused, sounds like aircraft engines, looks like rusted vintage planes.
Fenmore; Green, smells of botanical gardens, reserved yet peaceful, sounds like pine grouse calling, looks like dark green winter foliage.

Synesthesia? Interesting, didn't know there was a name for it!
I've always associated numbers with tastes.
0 = soup
1 = strawberries
2 = grapes
3 = peaches or plums
4 = cheese or honey
5 = tomatoes
6 = spaghetti
7 = cucumbers or pears
8 = eggs
9 = macaroni
And music styles too.
classical = tomato soup
jazz = oranges
pop = yogurt
rock = Coca-Cola

My head doesn't work that way; but I am delighted that so many people see Beatrice as the colour orange! My daughter, Beatrice, has had red hair since birth. When she was about three, young enough to sit in the fold-down seat on supermarket trolleys, someone in the queue at the next cashier looked at her and said "What lovely red hair you've got", and my literal-minded child said, in clear, ringing tones, "It's owwinje, akshallee" which the whole queue understood to mean "It's orange, actually" and fell about laughing. She didn't mind - she was happy to make them happy, she told me.
Yup, that’s called synaesthesia and it’s quite common amongst namesnerds!

Wow I've never heard of synaesthesia before but have just googled it.
Looks like it is common in creative people & 4% of the population have it.
Also heightened intelligence apparently but is also a mental condition.
I do not get colours from numbers or letters but I do get colours with months of the year also.
Thank you for brining this up. Nice to know I'm not the only one.

Yeah, sure, names have colours, but even more so, they have temperatures. Warm + cold combos are ideal. Warm + warm combos are fine. Cold + cold combos are to be avoided.
You’re not bonkers, you might have a form of synesthesia like me! I associate names/words with colours.
E.g. Alma = red-pink. Nell = cream. Eva = yellow. Ida = dark green. Ivy = blue (the celebrity kid Blue Ivy didn’t sound so weird to me, lol).
And yes, Beatrice is definitely orange, along with Sybil, Tilda, Gabrielle/a, Gaia, Julia etc.
