How do you pronounce this name?
Just as the title says, I’m looking for comments on how a certain name is pronounced by you and where you’re from. The name is Selah and I’ve heard it pronounced as SEE-lah and SAY-lah and I’m trying to ascertain which is the most common pronunciation. Either seems to be acceptable, just curious which is more common. Thanks.

The one I know pronounces it say-luh. I like it a lot that way.
SEE-la.
Seh-la
Sort of like an Aussie trying to say Cellar tbh

Like seller but without the R.
SEH-lah, ir SEH-lə
See lah, Aussie here too
Long time no see, Kerilyntaryn!
Thanks, I've been on the polls but couldn't get back here till now
I intuitively pronounce Selah as SAY-lah. I’ve never met one irl so don’t have anything else to go by. I’m from Australia ;) Beautiful name btw!
Yeah, Aussie here too and I don’t think I’ve ever come across a girl with this name either. It’s so pretty though and I love the meaning behind it.
Based on how it is written in Hebrew I would pronounce it Seh-lah, rhyming with Ella. I don't know if it is pronounced that way in English. Of the two you mentioned, the Hebrew vowel for that the first vowel sound is closer to SAY-lah than SEE-lah.

Thanks. Trying to find what the most authentic Hebrew to English pronunciation would be!
My knowledge of biblical pronunciation is limited, but if it is spelled סֶלָה then it uses the segol vowel. That would make "eh" the closest vowel sound in English.
My first instinct is to pronounce it SEE-la.
