I always liked Adam. It's a friendly, familiar, unassuming name that can work well on any age or ethnicity.
No idea why it doesn't show as popular among Jewish men of that time period. Was their a different form of it that was used more, like Chava or Chaya for Eve?
Maybe Jews of the time thought that Adam was too much used by Gentiles?
