Sharing a name with a celebrity
My friend is ftm and wants to use a celebrities name as their new name with a unisex spelling. They don't like any other names what should they do

They just want a celebrity name? No matter who it is as long as it’s unisex?
Unless you mean a specific celebrity. I think it’s fine as long as it’s common not to be associated exclusively with the celebrity.

Its common name ranked 904 on nameberry
and the spelling my friend is using is the diminutive which is also commonly used

I don’t see the problem then. A lot of people have thr same given name as celebrities.
I mean it really depends. If it's, like, Taylor Swift, there's a lot of Taylors out there. If it's Beyonce, there's only one Beyonce, and I wouldn't recommend it. But there's a lot of celebrities out there, and most of them have normal names. Nothing wrong with using them as inspiration.
The first name is very common like Charlie,Taylor ashley and they'll have a different surname to the celebrity
then what could possibly be the problem?
Hard to say without a clue as to what name it is, and whether your friend is using both first and last name.
NEVER intentionally use the same first and last name of a celebrity; you'll either look woefully ignorant or really pathetically imitating. Bad enough for people who were named their names before a celebrity with that name came to be well-known.

Only first name will be used
